READING: Janet Lansbury is unique among parenting experts. As a RIE teacher and student of pioneering child specialist Magda Gerber, her advice is not based solely on formal studies and the research of others, but also on her twenty years of hands-on experience guiding hundreds of parents and their toddlers. "No Bad Kids" is a collection of Janet's most popular and widely read articles pertaining to common toddler behaviors and how respectful parenting practices can be applied to benefit both parents and children. It covers such common topics as punishment, cooperation, boundaries, testing, tantrums, hitting, and more. "No Bad Kids" provides a practical, indispensable tool for parents who are anticipating or experiencing those critical years when toddlers are developmentally obliged to test the limits of our patience and love. Armed with knowledge and a clearer sense of the world through our children's eyes, this period of uncertainty can afford a myriad of opportunities to forge unbreakable bonds of trust and respect.

READING: This book was written as a result of the author and his wife spending several years providing for kids who needed a home. There are many, many books written on the subject of Oat riskO children and/or foster children. Most, if not all, are written by clinical psychologists or other Opeople of learningO who believe that they are child advocates. NOT THIS ONE! This one tells it like it really is! After the mandatory hours of OtrainingO (which were not needed because of raising four birth children and a teenager the boys had adopted) the author and his wife began accepting foster children. The book describes how the foster parent feels about raising foster children (and birth children). He relates from the experiences of a foster dad rather than from a clinical slant. The information, of course, applies to birth children, as well. Much information is presented to assist parents in dealing with the problems of puberty. Case studies are included as well as poems from one of the foster girls and a diary from another foster parent about her dealings with two foster children. The sequel to this book is entitled: 'Never Underestimate the Arrogance or Stupidity of Government' and covers a case in which the foster parents sued Child Protective Services for mistreatment of them as foster parents and one of their foster children. It cost them $10,000 and they were sure they would lose, but they wanted to make a statement about the screwed up system.

READING: He's the last thing you'll ever see... Seven-feet-tall. Four hundred pounds. A blood-crusted, rusty steel plate screwed into his skull. But perhaps the most terrifying thing about reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight are the razor-sharp nails on his forefingers, the ones that circle around his victims' eyes just before he takes them. Holed up within the long-abandoned Blackwell Hotel, nine floors of hidden passageways and two-way mirrors that once acted as a playground for the rich and privileged, Jacob's disturbing gaze is now fixed on Kira, Christine, Michael, Tye, Zoe, Melissa, Richie, and Russell -- eight delinquents hoping to shave time off their county jail sentences by performing community service and restoring the building -- and detention officer Frank Williams, the former cop who put a bullet in Jacob's head four years prior. Goodnight sees the sins in their eyes -- he always does -- and he's going to pluck them out, one by one... See No Evil, a violent, bloody account of madness and revenge, is a novelization of the terrifying new thriller from WWE Films and Lionsgate, starring WWE Raw Superstar Kane.

READING: Books 4-7 in the steamy, LGBTQ New Adult Bend or Break series! LEVEL HANDS Rafael Castro is so far out of his element he can’t even see it anymore. Carlisle College in Massachusetts is a long way from his Chicago home, even farther from his Dominican Republic roots. The only thing keeping him attached to his last nerve is the prospect of seeing Denny Winslow again. The first time they met, Denny taught Rafi to fly across the water, rowing hard in a knife-like boat. Now, two years later, on the wings of a rowing scholarship, Rafi is attending Denny’s elite college. Even before the excitement wears off, Rafi is struggling with classes and fending off rumors that Denny’s family, not Rafi’s talent, won him his spot. To quash the gossip, Rafi tries to steer clear of the man he wants. A plan that evaporates in the fire of renewed attraction. But Carlisle’s academic pressure cooker has Rafi barely treading water. And when a family crisis hits, both Rafi and Denny must pull hard to keep their relationship from capsizing in rough waters. REAL WORLD Five years ago, Tom Worthington busted his ass to overcome the fear and paranoia that led him to withdraw from the world and nearly lose his boyfriend. He never thought he’d find himself right back there, shutting Reese out, keeping secrets again. Reese Anders is ready to try anything to get Tom to talk: if he can’t seduce his boyfriend with food, he’ll get Tom to open up in bed. But even Tom’s confession that his dad is getting out of prison soon doesn’t clear the air between them. And as the holidays approach, intensive mentoring from a new British boss creates more distractions, until Reese is keeping secrets of his own. At a company Christmas party, it only takes Tom one look at Reese’s new boss to figure out how much danger their relationship is in. But he’s not about to let the connection that started all those years ago at Carlisle come to an end. It’s time to deal with their problems like adults. Face to face. Or back to front. Starting in the bedroom. BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE (Duology) Love Me Like A Rock: With the right art tools, there’s almost nothing Austin can’t make real. Except an official relationship with his best friend, rowing teammate and occasional hookup, Vinnie. Emotional and sexual frustration fuel a spark between Austin and Sean, the nude model in drawing class. After a quick and very dirty encounter, all the reasons Austin has been waiting for Vinnie go fuzzy in his mind. But if Austin can’t get his head and his heart on the same page, he could lose both his friend, and his lover. Hard Candy: Vincent always assumed he and Austin would eventually end up together. But now that Austin’s in love with another man, Vinnie is at a loss. After the world’s most awkward one-night stand with Bryan, a dance major, Vinnie is drawn to his vibrant spirit and calm center. Physically, the rowing jock and the glittery dancer can match each other stroke for booty pop. But for the lovers to meet on common ground, they’ll have to find a way to get moving in the same direction. THE BELLE VS. THE BDOC Shelby Summerfield is a Southern belle at a northern college in 1993, which is a challenge to begin with. And yes, Florence Truong, the object of Shelby's lust and the only other woman on campus not wearing flannel, does catch her in what looks like a compromising position with a straight boy at pub trivia night. But Shelby is a gold star lesbian and Florence's dapper fashion sense makes her weak in the knees, so her rejection stings hard. To exact her revenge, Shelby strategizes to win like a Southern girl on a mission. And if trivia can't settle their rivalry, then maybe the annual campus-wide game of assassin will do the trick. Shelby's gonna come out on top of Florence—in bed or out, one way or another. Bless her heart. And her silk pocket squares.
