READING: The third edition of Inside Out and Outside In further explores the bio-psycho-social domains of clinical theory and practice in work with clients in multicultural settings. Key updates include two new chapters—one addressing relational and intersubjective theories, and another on cognitive behavioral theory and practice. The book maintains its respectful tone and empathetic voice while including new material on affective disorders; linking trauma theory with attachment; psychodyamic theory as it intersects with race and gender; and attending to client systems, including couples.

READING: This fourth volume of the Iconicity series is like its predecessors devoted to the study of iconicity in language and literature in all its forms. Many of the papers turn the notion of iconicity 'inside-out', some suggesting that 'less-is-more'; others focus on the cognitive factors 'inside' the brain that are important for the iconic phenomena that are produced in the 'outside' world. In addition this volume includes a paper related to iconicity in music and its interaction with language. Other papers range from the theoretical issues involved in the evolution of language, to those that offer many 'inside-out' claims, such as claiming that nouns are derived from pronouns, and as such should more properly be called 'pro-pronouns'. Also, this volume includes perhaps the first English-language analysis of the iconic aspects of sound symbolism in a prayer from the Koran. This is a truly interdisciplinary collection that should turn some of the notions of iconicity in language and literature 'outside-in' and 'inside-out'.

READING: This book presents cutting edge developments in Adult Mental Health through the presentation of creative and innovative applications of systemic theory to practice. The first section deconstructs the medical model with some of the current beliefs and practices shaping services whilst placing adult mental health in a wider social and political context. The second half of the book showcases good practice from the field. At either end of the volume "bookends" invite current clients and staff to write about their experiences with the aim of bringing a powerful personal context into the work. We intend to create a shift from third person objectivity to a first person experience as a political act which flows through the book.

READING: Territory is back with a vengeance. Although territorial politics never really went away, it was often perceived that way in public discussion and among scholars. The territorial conflicts of the last several years, however, have raised new academic and policy questions, revived old debates that were nearly forgotten, and forced us to rethink many of our common conceptions. Social scientists broadly agree that territory, as well as the boundaries that confine it and group identity that relates to it, are socially constructed rather than natural or primordial. But how and through which mechanisms is the meaning of territory constructed? By whom? For which purposes and by what tools? Which forces influence such territorial designs? How do different territorial designs affect state behavior in particular, and the dynamics of international politics in general? This book brings together political scientists and geographersboth disciplines in which scholars have long researched such questionsto create a mutually fertilizing dialogue, which will advance our understanding of territorial designs. The authors tackle core theoretical questions, institutions and ideas of territoriality, borders, space, place, and identity, as well as the methodologies used to study them. They utilize case studies as far apart as the Ottoman Empire, the colonization of Ireland, and current day Middle East; and they interrogate the characteristics of spaces as different as land, air, and water. The chapters were originally published as a special issue of Territory, Politics, Governance.

READING: "Inside Out, Outside In celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of architects RMJM and the significant contribution the firm has made to architecture in the UK and beyond. From its creation in Britain in 1956, the practice has evolved and developed into an international firm with 600 members of staff and a broad and eclectic variety of projects. RMJM has always remained true to its founding principles: putting people first and valuing the process as much as the product." "This book sets out the workings of RMJM from the inside out - the unique combination of personalities and cultures that it embraces - and from the outside in - exploring its client relations and current projects. Inside Out, Outside In examines the processes employed by the practice from concept to completion and explores the influences and technologies that impact upon the company's unique perspective on architecture and development. A diversity of material, including both personal viewpoints and academic assessment, alongside plans, drawings, photographs, paintings and illustrations, provides a new way of looking at architecture, design, space and visual culture."--BOOK JACKET.
